Hey there! Thanks for finding my blog. This is a fun place where you can find all my environmental journalism, thoughts, photography, and my very own hand painted artwork neatly placed on this site. You may even find other cool stuff here! Hope you love surprises just as much as I do.

A little about ya girl Anna Carman!

I’m a goofy, tropical chica who lives in Montauk, N.Y. and immediately grew up loving the ocean ( I love it more and more with each passing day). I recently earned my bachelors degree at SUNY Environmental Science and Forestry all the way up in Syracuse, N.Y to hopefully pursue a career in environmental journalism! Even though I have my whole life ahead of me, I want to continue to step outside my lovely hometown as much as possible to protect our forever home a.k.a Earth! Through this blog, you’ll get to know more of me—I promise you it will be fun because that’s the whole point!

Why Montauk Soup?

Funny enough, the title, Montauk Soup came from my painted tote bag stock! (you can find my totes above hehe). At a family gathering one summer weekend my artistic, down-to-Earth Aunt Trace gave me inspiration that immediately made me jump around and smile from ear to ear. So here I am with my first website at 22 years old.

Contact

You can find my email and socials in the top right corner, but here’s my email again just in case: anna.carman3@gmail.com

As I try to get my foot in the “environmental journalism door”, feel free to message me about any environmental events, facts, and factual scientific information you find and want to share.

One of my goals is to connect with people about our home and even just life! Don’t be shy!

Thanks to…

My entire family and friends for that little push everyone needs—this is one of the outcomes of that. I also think of my idols. My two main idols are my mom and my older sister who I literally can’t live without. We all have at least one celebrity idol, so for me it has always been Princess Diana and Bethany Hamilton. They’re badass women who have been through it, yet have come out stronger than ever and support other women all around the world.

Finally

As a writer, artist, and tropical gal, I hope my work brings a smile to your face and a greater love for our oceans, forests, health, and every other soul on this planet. I try to find the fun in almost everything I do-its helped me a lot through this thing we call life.

Thanks again for stopping by because it means A LOT

Now go enjoy your life and I’ll see you out there!
